Use these steps as guidelines to form strategies, set goals and execute your plan for success.  Here are some tips:

  • Steps 1 through 5 can be completed with minimal time and cost.  One strategy is to educate yourself and execute the first 5 steps on your own.  However you always have the option to get assistance from professionals.  Upon completion of step 5 you will have a confident understanding of your potential for success with minimal time and investment.

  • Steps 1 through 5 will also prepare you for minimizing prototyping costs in step 6 which can be high.  Depending on the project and your experience, this may be a good time to get professional help.  Prototypes aren’t always required but are often a smart strategy move.

  • Step 7.  Creating a sales sheet or sales video is important to make sure you look professional and prepared when meeting with inquiring companies.  Sales sheets and videos should be concise and compelling. Depending on your strategy and capabilities, this is one area to consider help with as well.

  • Step 8 is a preparation step for meeting with inquiring companies.  As you prepare your pitch it is a good time to meet with an attorney or other professional and have them lined up to help you with negotiations and licensing agreement.  Continue practicing your pitch through the rest of the process.

  • Step 9, creating a Remarkable Venture listing, is one of the most enjoyable parts of the process.  Here you can use the information and innovation you have created and reflect on the experience thus far.   Use your creativity and excitement to give the world some hints about your creation!  Inquiring companies view your listing, click on the “Contact” heading and fill out the form which emails you a signed non-disclosure agreement (NDA).  Now you can contact them and privately discuss details about your invention.  Get listing feedback from the Remarkable Venture community and make improvements as you go.

  • Step 10 is another strategy choice.  You can get help from a professional, file a provisional patent on your own or negotiate financial assistance from the inquiring company to get patent work done.  Since Remarkable Venture listings are discussed under an impartial NDA, the choice is yours.

  • Step 11, sharing your Remarkable Venture listing isn’t costly and increases your listing visibility beyond organic views.  Sharing your listing can also be a great way to learn more about your market and the companies innovating in that space. Your hard work is done so finish strong and don’t give up!
