Do this After Creating Your Remarkable Venture Listing

Once your Remarkable Venture Listing is complete, prepare to present your idea to companies.

Things to Consider in Preparation

  • Have a one-page sales sheet or sales video highlighting your idea ready to show.
  • Prepare a concise 1-3 minute pitch presentation which can include your sales sheet or sales video.
  • If you have a prototype, prepare pictures or videos of the prototype in use.
  • Be prepared if they want to see the prototype or use it firsthand.
  • Have all your notes gathered and ready to answer questions.
  • Have an idea of your terms to negotiate in case the company makes an offer.
  • Have an attorney available for support if necessary.
  • Practice being concise in your presentation and discussion.  Only provide the relevant details of your idea.  Save elaborations for a question-and-answer portion of your discussion.
  • Practice your presentation with someone else or record it and watch to make sure you are comfortable presenting concise information.

Sharing your Remarkable Venture listing link

  • Research and locate as many companies as possible that might have interest in your idea.
  • Locate contact information of Open Innovation Managers, Purchasing Managers, Product Managers, CEOs or owners of these companies and personally invite them to review your Listing on RemarkableVenture.com by calling or sending them a short personal email with an invitation to your listing.  We recommend setting a goal for yourself of direct contacts to add to Remarkable Venture organic views.
  • Share on social media as well as family and friends that might have leads to companies that would license with you.
  • Use the link share Icon at the top of your listing to make sharing your link easy.

Maintain your profile and Optimize your listing

  • Maintain your profile at Remarkable Venture to provide inquiring companies with details about your background and experience.
  • Community members have the ability to review you as well.  Use their constructive feedback to make improvements to your profile and your community interactions.  Respond to their feedback with inquiring companies in mind, so you can prove your skills in dealing with community members in a positive way.
  • Monitor your listing reviews.  Respond positively to constructive criticism in reviews as well and make improvements to your listing as necessary to optimize. (Remember that inquiring companies may review your responses and use them as indicators of compatibility.)
  • If you make a change to your listing, you may rate your own listing one time to compensate.

When companies inquire about your listing

  • Look on RemarkableVenture.com profiles, to learn as much about the company as possible prior to your first contact.  Think of them as a potential partner and make sure they would be a good fit.
  • Learn more about the company by visiting their website and searching the internet.

-How many employees do they have?

-What products or services do they provide?

-Are they publicly traded, and if so do they show positive financial results?

-Do they have good customer ratings and positive customer feedback?

-Overall is their reputation a good fit?

  • Make yourself available to review listing inquiries and respond to them quickly.  Don’t make companies wait.
  • If a company doesn’t seem like a good fit, you can deny a first contact and keep searching for the right one.  It is always recommended that you respond to all company inquiries even if you decide not to share with them and thank them for inquiring.
  • Don’t forget to sign your NDA and send the company a signed copy before sharing information.

How Long to keep your listing open

  • Once a licensing agreement or contract is signed or a sale is made, close your listing.  Don’t prematurely close it in case the agreement or contract falls through.  Contact Remarkable Venture through the Contact Us page to close or pause your listing.
  • If you come to an agreement with a company to pause your listing for a period of time, contact Remarkable Venture and request that the listing be paused.  Note that the listing is still active while paused but cannot be seen.

Once your listing is Successful

  • Use Contact Us to Request to close the listing by contacting Remarkable Venture once your license agreement or contract is signed.
  • Also let us know about your successful results so we can properly congratulate you!
  • If you add a comment or two of feedback on your experience with Remarkable Venture (good or bad) it is greatly appreciated and will help us improve.
